450 pages include 16 projects, six essays by author Ian Volner, and six inserts that dig deeper into various aspects of collaboration.
The printed case wrap features a detail from Huy Nguyen’s wall mural commissioned by Westdale Real Estate Management and Droese Raney. The pattern, color, texture and angles serve as the perfect first impression for the work inside.
Co-published by ORO Editions and Andrea Monfried Editions.
In order to differentiate the collaboration conversations from project imagery we designed a series of smaller-scale eight-page inserts. These printed on uncoated paper and were bound into the flow of the projects they relate to.
Typography was kept simple and clean to provide a visual break amidst image-heavy project pages. Fraktion Sans was used because of its mechanical sturdiness, expressive clarity and industrial spirit and paired with Klim’s serif, Signifier, to provide texture and grounding.
Other production details that make this cover special: a rough textured coating to mimic the stucco and brick texture in the mural and transparent foil stamping on the title letterforms.
Photos throughout by Fredrik Brodén and Exploredinary among others.
In addition to smaller-scale inserts, we included larger-scale gate folds to showcase project details and floorplans. Open the door for a closer look >
